CMS Website Design

1. Create information–rich content

There are high chances that your website will see visitors who drop in just to get an idea about Joomla web design or Joomla web development. Therefore it is very important that your website has content which is not only geared towards sales, but is also educative and informative for a novice in this field. In fact you can create some educational offers which can be easily downloaded on your website and which will educate the visitors on the Joomla industry and the products and services you offer. Along with this you can also post some quality blogs on targeted topics on your website. This will not only educate the visitor, but will also drive traffic on your website. It is highly recommended that your blogs stick to being educative with bare minimum sales pitches.

2.  Promote the content on social media platforms

Though social media platforms play a crucial role in marketing one’s business online, it has been noticed that Joomla is yet to find a way to successfully market itself on these platforms. One major mistake committed by majority Joomla businesses is that very often they turn their Twitter feeds and Facebook wall in to massive sales pitch. We recommend that your social media posts include

  •  60% quality content/ blogs/ news from Joomla industry
  • 20% news and updates about your company
  • 10% posts dealing with sales and promotion
  • 10% posts on brand building

This way you can maintain a balance in your Twitter feeds and Facebook posts, which the readers will enjoy and also keep them engaged with updates about your work and company.

3.  Make a strong Call to Actions (CTA)

CTA is a very important aspect for any website. Each of your CTA should in fact be targeted towards specific users and must communicate directly to each one of them explaining how your products and services can help them solve their problems. Always place your call to actions on highly visible areas of your website, this will make things easier for the visitor and also help your business.

4. Nurture your Leads

Whenever a visitor converts on an action, they turn into a lead. Their action could be registering as a member of the website, downloading some content from your site or filling out a form. Whatever is the manner through which they got converted, we recommend that you diligently keep them engaged. Try your best to convert these leads into customers, and once they become customers see to it that you nurture them well. So basically right from lead conversion, you need to engage and nurture your leads. Always keep in mind not to annoy your leads with extreme sales pitch, rather opt for informative content with a dash of sales pitch. This strategy will go a long way in converting your leads into full time customers.

5. Measure and improve your performance

For any marketing strategy to be successful, it is highly crucial that you keep measuring your efforts and improving and improvising on your strategies. This is one important step which many Joomla designers and marketers overlook. But until you do not where you stand, and how fruitful have been your strategies you cannot make an intelligent plan for the future. Thus keep measuring and improving your performance on a regular basis.

We are sure once you start following the above given tips, your Joomla business will see a dynamic improvement in its popularity and sales. Do let us know how these tips helped you.

Users are asked to upload their own photos, or select a custom one from Twitter. They suggest that your image be 1500×1500, for best results.

The new “Pinned Tweet” feature allows you to pin any tweet you want to the top of your profile page. Gmail Promotion Tab Look Like Pinterest-Image Driven Grid View

The visual web is coming to email with Google’s latest test of a grid view in the Gmail promotions tab. But it may take some more time before that is officially rolled out in the free webmail service of Google. Now, any Gmail account user could opt to take part in the new field trial for the new feature of the promotions tab.

Google’s Product Manager Aaron Rothman announced this new and interesting development for the promotional mail. He said the tab would soon feature numerous images from posters to photographs of almost any item that is commercially available.

He said that currently, those images are buried inside the messages in that section. When the new feature is officially rolled out, the usual subject lines that appear when the Promotions tab is opened would be replaced by the grid images. This, he added, would make it easier for Gmail users to pick deals and offers that are most interesting to them.

Gmail users can sign up to participate in the test starting today. Participants will be able to toggle between the traditional list view and grid view within the promotions tab. The test is limited to desktops at this point.

Twitter Rewards Promoted Accounts To Its Search Results

Twitter announced it will be now showing promoted accounts in search results, primary way for marketers to gain paid exposure on the microblogging platform.

A promoted account is an account that businesses pay to advertise to users, verses a Promoted tweet. However, mobile is an area where Twitter has performed particularly well, both in use and advertising.

Twitter-Promoted-Search-Results

Twitter Product Manager, Nippon Malhotra wrote in a blog post “With this launch, relevant Promoted Accounts can be presented to users in search results along with recommendations of people to follow. We automatically select relevant search queries for presenting Promoted Accounts based on an advertiser’s targeting choices, so no additional action is required for your business to access this capability.”

For example, if you’re looking for “coffee” or “mattresses,” in the Twitter search bar, the first few results you’ll see will be the Twitter handles of brands that have paid for Promoted Accounts. This increases the chances of that brand getting you to follow them, and also getting your business.

New Google Maps Comes Out Of Beta

It’s been nearly a year now since we saw a brand-new version of Google-Maps, rebuilt from the ground up to integrate street view, Google Earth and the rest of Google’s location services into a single place. The new Google maps have been available to users, who request an invitation since May, but starting today, becoming default version for all users.

The new Google Map is the most powerful Maps ever, it aims to simplify the world’s most widely used mapping software by making it more seamless to zip in and out of the basic view, Street View, and satellite imagery.

Google-Map

The map is now fully interactive. Click anywhere on the map it will tell you what your cursor has landed on complete with street view thumbnail. Make smarter decisions, just search for “coffee” in your neighborhood, you’ll be able to see results and snippets right on the map, including the time and distance for each route and with the new real-time traffic reports and street view previews. Rich imagery takes you to notable landmarks, sends you flying above mountains in 3D, and gives you a sneak peek of businesses you plan to visit. The new “carousel” at the bottom of the map makes all this imagery easy to access, so you can explore the world with a click.

We can dodge jams as live traffic is displayed with color coded alerts to congested roads, which was available earlier, but what’s new is the ability to predict traffic up to a week before you embark on your journey. Click on either a train or bus stop icon and it’ll tell you what lines operate and what bus number runs on that route. For some bus stops it will even tell you the times for the next departing buses.

Finally if you’re just not ready for change you can return to the old Google Maps by clicking the help icon and select ‘return to classic Google maps’.

Matt Cutts Released a Video on How to Handle Minor Duplicate Content Issues

Matt Cutts answers a question about duplicate content in his latest webmaster help video where a user writes in to ask “If you had to deal with short-term duplicated content on a news site (perhaps publishing a story on two different URLs over one day), what would you do in order to avoid any penalty from a duplicate content filter?”

Google’s major search engine function is to offer a customer the best possible results for a search, based upon the search term (keywords) that the customer has used in the Google search box. While the story is breaking Matt says it’s understandable that you’ll have multiple instances of that story spread across the web. When things settle down, having a “rel=canonical” tag in place indicates the preferred location on the web where you would like that information to sit.

Cutts also did say that 25% of the web is duplicative, so you really don’t have to worry about it.

For more information to the question in his own words, see the video below:

New Google AdSense Features That Strengthens Strategy

Google shared some product updates with new features for responsive ad units and a multi-screen optimization score to complement and strengthen your strategy.

Google-Adsense

Following are the new features for responsive ad units:

  • Product manager says “If your responsive page changes its layout following a screen orientation change, we’ll request and load a new ad to fit the new page layout.”
  • Smart sizing based on the space available: The ad code will automatically adapt all newly created responsive ad units to fit your page layout.
  • Your ad unit reports can now be broken out by the size of the ad served.
  • Multi-screen optimization score in publisher score card: A new multi-screen category –for example, if a user need to zoom and/or scroll often, this may negatively impact their experience. Your score will measure what percentage of your pages are multi-screen optimized and compare this percentage to that of other AdSense publishers.

Note: You may not see this category in your scorecard if you have a low percentage of mobile traffic on your site. This new score will be visible in the scorecard on your AdSense home page.

Webmaster Help Video On How To Recover From Google Penalty

Google has provided few suggestions in a new webmaster help video regarding how to recover from Google penalty due to spammy links.

Matt Cutts answered to the question

“How did Interflora turn their ban in 11 days? Can you explain what kind of penalty they had, how they fixed it, as some of us have spent months trying to clean things up after an unclear GWT notification?”

Interflora is a major UK flower site that was hit by a Google penalty early this year, but Google didn’t call out this company publicly, after the reports of penalty came out, the company wrote a blog post warning people not to engage in the “buying and selling of links.”

Matt Cutts proceeds to try and answer the question in more general terms “Google tends to looking at buying and selling links that pass page rank as a violation of our guidelines and if we see that happening multiple times then the action that we take more and more severe. We’re more willing to take stronger action whenever we see repeat violation.”

Cutts says “It’s not something that I would typically recommend for everybody to disavow every link that you’ve gotten for a period of years-but certainly when people start over with completely new websites they have bought-we have seen a few cases where people will disavow every single link because they truly want to get a fresh start.”

In other words, if you’re willing to go to such great lengths and eliminate such a big number of links, Google is going to notice.

If you’ve got links from some very spammy forum or something like that, rather than trying to identify the individual pages, that might be the opportunity to da a ‘domain:’ . So if you’ve got a lot of links that you think are bad from a particular site, just go ahead and do ‘domain:’ and the name of that domain.  Don’t try to pick the individual links because you might be missing a lot
